The Business Awards Glossary

X-Factor

Pronounced: EKS-fak-ter

Definition (in the context of Business Awards):
The X-Factor refers to a unique quality, differentiator, or standout element that makes an individual, product, team, or company truly exceptional. In Business Awards, judges may consider an entry’s X-Factor as the “wow” element that sets it apart from other submissions—even if it’s not explicitly listed in the criteria.

Example usage:

“Their entry stood out due to its clear results and a powerful X-Factor—the social impact their innovation had in underserved communities.”
