Globee® Awards Terms and Conditions for Judges

These Terms and Conditions for Judges (“Judge Terms”) govern applications and volunteer judging participation in programs operated by Silicon Valley Communications, LLC, doing business as Globee® Awards (“Globee® Awards,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By applying, accessing the judging portal, or evaluating an assignment, you agree to these Judge Terms.
Read these Judge Terms with the Judging and Awards Process, the Privacy Policy, and program-specific instructions. If an instruction conflicts with these Judge Terms, these Judge Terms control unless the instruction expressly states that it modifies them.
1. Eligibility and Application Information
You must be at least 18 years old and currently working as a professional, entrepreneur, or business owner. You must apply directly using your individual, current work or business email address. Personal, former-employer, university, shared, generic, or group email addresses are not accepted.
All application and profile information must be complete, accurate, current, and verifiable. You authorize Globee® Awards to review publicly available professional information and information you provide for identity, affiliation, suitability, program-integrity, and participation purposes.
Submit a separate application for each awards program and year. Approval is not automatic. Approval for one program or year does not guarantee approval for another.
2. Selection and Assignments
Applications are reviewed based on verifiable professional experience, relevant qualifications, prior participation when applicable, program needs, and available opportunities. No agent, consultant, individual, or third party can influence the process or guarantee approval or assignments.
Approvals are generally processed on Fridays, Pacific Time, during active judging periods. Approved judges may receive an initial set of up to 10 evaluations, typically within approximately 48 hours. Initial work is reviewed for adherence to program standards. Additional assignments, up to a total of 50, may be allocated only after satisfactory review.
Globee® Awards determines category placement and assignment allocation. Approval does not guarantee a category, number of assignments, timing, continuation, recognition, certificate, or badge.
3. Volunteer Status
Judge participation is voluntary and unpaid. Globee® Awards does not charge a judge application, participation, eCertificate, or eBadge fee.
Participation does not create employment, agency, partnership, joint venture, fiduciary, franchise, or independent-contractor status. You are not entitled to wages, benefits, reimbursement, insurance, or future assignments and are not authorized to speak for, bind, or make commitments on behalf of Globee® Awards.
If you separately submit a nomination, you must follow the same entry requirements and pay the applicable fee as every other entrant. Judging does not provide a free entry or guarantee an award.
4. Employer and Professional Obligations
You are responsible for determining whether your employer permits outside volunteer service and use of your professional affiliation. You must obtain any required employer approval before participating.
An employer approval letter confirms only awareness and permission. It does not guarantee judge selection, assignments, recognition, or continued participation.
You must comply with applicable professional duties, employment restrictions, confidentiality obligations, laws, and codes of conduct.
5. Standard of Review
You must carefully review the nomination and supporting materials provided through the portal and apply the published criteria consistently. Scores must reflect your good-faith professional judgment based on the submitted content—not personal relationships, outside pressure, undisclosed interests, or information outside the entry.
Judges assign numerical scores only. Written comments are not collected. You must not attempt to communicate comments directly to entrants or nominees.
You are selected for your professional experience, industry knowledge, and ability to evaluate submitted applications and evidence. Globee® Awards does not represent that you are a subject-matter expert in every category or aspect of every assignment.
6. Conflicts of Interest and Recusal
You must recuse yourself when you:
have a personal, professional, financial, or competitive conflict;
are connected to the entrant, nominee, or nominated organization in a way that could affect impartiality;
submitted or helped prepare the nomination; or
cannot evaluate the entry impartially under the published criteria.
Disclose the reason through the portal. A recused assignment does not count as completed. Globee® Awards may provide a replacement assignment at its discretion but does not guarantee one.
You may separately enter an awards program but may not evaluate your own nomination. Do not recuse merely because you suspect an assignment is an audit or test assignment; an actual conflict must always be disclosed.
7. Confidentiality and Information Security
Nomination content, supporting materials, portal information, assignments, scores, audit materials, and nonpublic program communications are confidential and may be used only for authorized judging.
You must:
keep credentials private and use only your own account;
access only assignments allocated to you;
not download, copy, photograph, record, screenshot, print, store, publish, or share assignment content or scores;
not contact entrants or nominees about an assignment;
not allow another person or automated system to review or score an assignment for you; and
continue to protect confidential information after judging or portal access ends.
Assignments may be hidden after the judging period. Loss of access does not end your confidentiality obligations.
If you suspect unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss, notify help@globeeawards.com immediately and cooperate with reasonable containment and investigation steps.
8. Scores and Program Records
Scores and evaluation records submitted through the portal become part of Globee® Awards’ program records. You authorize Globee® Awards to store, audit, validate, aggregate, exclude, recalculate, and use accepted scores to administer the awards and determine results.
You may save work and revise a score while the portal permits. After judging closes or a score is accepted and locked, you have no right to change it unless Globee® Awards reopens the evaluation.
Entrants receive anonymous numerical scores. Your identity is not connected to a particular score provided to an entrant, although qualifying judge names and organizations may be published as described below.
9. Audits and Quality Review
Globee® Awards may review scoring activity for incomplete review, inconsistent or unreliable scoring, conflicts, coordinated activity, improper automation, false information, misuse, confidentiality violations, or other noncompliance. Audits may include test assignments and comparison of scoring patterns.
When reasonably appropriate, Globee® Awards may:
exclude or nullify affected scores;
reassign entries or require additional review;
withhold further assignments;
suspend or end portal access or participation;
withhold or revoke judge recognition; or
decline future applications.
Completing 50 evaluations does not prevent an audit or excuse a violation. Measures will be proportionate to the circumstances and available information.
10. Professional Conduct
Communications and conduct must be truthful, respectful, professional, and consistent with program integrity. You must not impersonate another person, misrepresent your affiliation or credentials, harass participants or staff, manipulate scoring, solicit entrants, sell access or influence, misuse the Globee® name, or claim authority you do not have.
You may not use assignment information for competitive intelligence, sales, recruiting, investment, publicity, personal advantage, or any purpose unrelated to judging.
11. Ending Participation
You may stop participating by notifying Globee® Awards so pending assignments can be reassigned. Globee® Awards may suspend or end participation, access, assignments, or recognition for program needs, failure to complete work, unreliable scoring, noncompliance, security concerns, or other material reasons.
Ending participation does not automatically guarantee or prevent future approval. A later application will be reviewed under the requirements and needs then in effect.
12. Judge Recognition
To qualify for a verified judge eCertificate, eBadge, and individual public recognition for one awards program, you must complete at least 50 valid evaluations in that program, subject to audit. Recused, incomplete, invalidated, or unaccepted evaluations do not count.
The eCertificate and eBadge display your full name, awards program, and year. They do not display your company or organization. Your full name and organization are published on the applicable participating judges page.
If you complete at least 10 but fewer than 50 valid evaluations, you receive a thank-you email but no eCertificate or eBadge. Other participating judges are acknowledged collectively through a general thank-you statement; their individual names and organizations are not included in the qualifying-judge list.
Judges completing 50 valid evaluations by the 20th of a month receive the eCertificate and eBadge on the 28th. Completion after the 20th moves issuance to the next monthly cycle. Expedited, customized, or alternative documentation is not available.
Recognition may be withheld or revoked if the underlying evaluations are invalidated or participation materially violates these Judge Terms.
13. Accurate Use of Judge Recognition
A judge eCertificate and eBadge document qualifying participation in a specific program and year. They are not academic, technical, professional, licensing, employment, immigration, visa, residency, or legal credentials.
Globee® Awards does not issue reference or recommendation letters, endorsements, employment verifications, immigration or visa support, legal support, or customized verification documents. Participation does not guarantee or imply employment, promotion, business, immigration, professional, or legal benefits.
You may accurately identify qualifying participation but may not imply that Globee® Awards certified your expertise, endorsed you or your employer, created an employment relationship, or authorized you to represent the organization.
14. Globee® Awards Intellectual Property
Globee®, Globee® Awards, Golden Bridge Awards®, program names, logos, portal content, scoring criteria, audit materials, eCertificates, eBadges, award designs, and related intellectual property belong to Globee® Awards or their respective owners.
You receive only a limited, revocable right to use your valid eCertificate or eBadge accurately for personal professional communication. You may not alter, sell, sublicense, issue, reproduce for others, or create confusingly similar credentials.
15. Privacy
Personal information is handled under the Globee® Awards Privacy Policy. Qualifying public judge information and retention practices are described there.
16. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, judge applications, portal access, assignments, recognition, and related services are provided “as is” and “as available.” Globee® Awards does not guarantee approval, assignments, uninterrupted access, recognition, future participation, or acceptance of judge recognition by any third party.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Globee® Awards and its officers, employees, contractors, and service providers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages or for lost opportunities, income, goodwill, data, or professional outcomes arising from judge participation.
Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited. These Judge Terms do not waive claims arising from Globee® Awards’ fraud, willful misconduct, or gross negligence to the extent such claims cannot lawfully be waived.
17. Responsibility for Breach
You are responsible for third-party claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your material misrepresentation, infringement, unauthorized disclosure, misuse of assignment content, or other material breach of these Judge Terms. Globee® Awards will provide reasonable notice of a covered claim and permit reasonable participation in its defense or resolution. This section does not require you to indemnify Globee® Awards for its own unlawful conduct.
18. Changes to These Terms or the Judging Program
Globee® Awards may revise these Judge Terms, program schedules, assignment procedures, scoring systems, and recognition practices prospectively. The version accepted for the applicable participation generally governs that participation.
Material changes will not retroactively revoke valid recognition already earned except where reasonably necessary to comply with law, address fraud or misconduct, protect program integrity, correct an administrative error, or implement a change you accept.
19. Governing Law and Venue
These Judge Terms are governed by California law, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any proceeding arising from these Judge Terms must be brought in a state or federal court located in Santa Clara County, California, unless applicable law requires otherwise. Each party consents to those courts.
Before filing a claim, the parties should attempt in good faith to resolve the matter through written notice. Nothing prevents urgent injunctive relief or use of a small-claims procedure where legally available.
20. General Terms
If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign your judge account or participation. These Judge Terms and incorporated program instructions constitute the agreement governing judge participation.
