John Sachtouras | There are no bad or worse decisions – Everything is an experience for continuous improvement

John Sachtouras, CEO | ASCIRA Global | Dubai, UAE

John Sachtouras is an entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in the world of Network Marketing and high-impact business.

CEO & Founder at ASCIRA, “The Company For The People” with an ambitious project called “BEYOND A BILLION”.

What do achievements mean to you?

Achievement is a result of hard work. It is a testimony that the planning has been executed correctly. Achievements can be used as a milestone for inspiring people to work harder. Whatever achievement I have got is a result of teamwork.

Self-discipline is very important for achieving something. It requires great commitment to achieve your ultimate goal. As an allegory, it is like you go to a college to get a degree and you put in a lot of hard work to attain that degree. When you get your certificate, it is like a receipt for your hard work.

What excites you most about the work that you do?

I am excited that I can be an example for many people as a person of perseverance. I come from very humble beginnings, i.e., a middle-class family in Greece. My father passed away when I was 23.

He always used to tell me that I should compete with myself to be the best version of myself. And that I should do my best at work because it is an agreement that I made with myself. Initially, I was excited about financial freedom and making money. But now it excites me when I see someone who has benefitted from me.

Do you have a mantra or motto that you live by?

Everybody who knows me can testify that I am a person who never gives up. So, my mantra is to keep moving forward until you achieve your goals and dreams. Years back, when I ask a few friends to state my traits as a leader, most of them said I transform people. So, this award that I got from Globee, that of the Transformational Leader, fits my profile perfectly.

First job

I was a tour operator in my family-run company. At the tender age of seven, I was put in charge of receiving incoming tourists. From there I learned the ropes of business operations and was taught that customer service is the main element in business. If you make your customer happy beyond expectations and take care of their small personal deals, they will remember you come back to you.

Recent successes

It is definitely my company Ascira which was set up in Dubai in the midst of a pandemic. I am lucky to have an exceptional executive team with Belynda Lee (COO) and Curtis Randall (Executive Creative Director) at the helm. It’s a blessing to have people who care about the company just as much as you do.

Goal yet to be achieved

My main goal is to obviously bring a billion people into the Ascira family. And to have at least 10,000 families around the world to be financially free. They needn’t necessarily be millionaires, but they should have enough sustainable income. I’d also like to be able to contribute food and basic education to at least 10,000 children daily.

My mantra is to keep moving forward until you achieve your goals and dreams.

Best decision

It is definitely to move to Dubai. Apart from being a futuristic global city, it is also a warm and friendly place. I spent the first seven years of my life in Egypt, so coming back here and hearing Arabic again was like déjà vu for me.

Worst decision

There are no bad or worse decisions. Everything is an experience for continuous improvement. I am what I am because of the experiences I have endured. You either learn or you grow, but you never fail.

Definition of leadership

A leader is someone who will show you the way. He or she will motivate, guide, train, teach and inspire people to act and take responsibility for their actions.

Biggest missed opportunity

Yes. I didn’t buy enough bitcoins back they launched it. And I turned down a few good real estate projects back in America. I also did not release my autobiographical movie back in 2016. But it was a good decision because there are a lot more things to add in these five years.

One word that best describes you

Disciplined

How you’ve approached change?

Initially, change was uncomfortable because it got me out of balance. Since 1994, when my daughter was born, I felt a new kind of responsibility and I realized change is nothing more than improvement. So, I used it to catalyze my business and personal life. Change is power and innovation. It is also mandatory for improvement

What are you really into outside of work?

I like to ride my motorcycle because it keeps me balanced and I can enjoy the ride. I also like to go to the movies and the beach, and I love music. I also read at least one book every week.

What do you hope to achieve in your next position

There are several projects in the pipeline. We are in the process of developing our social media platform. And then there is our e-commerce shop which will be revolutionary. We are planning to do free training and workshops every 45 days, once the covid situation eases.

Countries you would like to visit

I would like to go to Fiji Islands, Uganda and Kenya.
