Chief Data Officer | Westpac | Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

With almost two decades of extensive experience in delivering innovative insights to drive organization’s transformation from analogue business practices to data driven business, I wish to use data & technology to bring innovation to the ever changing education vertical.
At present, I am working for Westpac (Australia’s one of the largest & oldest financial institution) as Chief Data Officer. One of the key KPI of my current role is to drive data driven transformation to ensure customer experience is optimised. The remit is broad including financial crimes management to creating seamless digital experiences within the privacy and ethics guidelines. I also represent bank to regulatory bodies like APRA, AUSTRAC and other government bodies. I look after overall budgeting and funding for all data related initiatives in the consume and business banking division and lead a team of ~500 data and analytics professionals.
Prior to Westpac, I was working for Woolworths as Head of Digital Analytics & Optimisation. In this role, I was responsible for leading data & analytics efforts to help Woolworths digital to continually hone and shape the most compelling and relevant customer value proposition and to guide and support the team in developing a rigorous test/learn framework for on-going optimisation of digital experience. I have formulated and executed data strategy encompassing data governance framework, business intelligence and overarching data led decisions. I have implemented technology platforms to enable the organisation from data collection to data execution and data monetisation.
Prior to that, I was working with Wal-Mart in its “online grocery” division as Senior manager, customer proposition & analytics. Reporting to VP, Marketing, I was responsible for leading strategy, insights, and analytics efforts to help different teams (Technology, Finance, marketing, acquisition, customer experience, site analytics etc.) for on-going data led optimization of acquisition, retention, and advocacy efforts.
