My name is Augustine Okosun, a Well Engineer professional with over 15 years working with Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company in the design and drilling department. My career experience in Well Engineering functions spanning well design and operations, performance management, contract management, business planning. This combined experience has positioned me with a unique ability of championing flagship initiatives that enables globally integrated Wells capability and meet the strategic ambition of industry leading competitiveness. My current role as Lead Well engineer, involves leading a group of highly productive drilling engineers in the design and execution of Bonga Deepwater Infill Drilling and Abandonment Campaign worth over $500 million; I am accountable for conceptual well design, detailed programing, and execution of extended reach wells in Deepwater brownfield developments. I also liaised with multiple stakeholders, partners, and government regulatory authorities to facilitate timely approval of both work program and contracting strategy. I lead the first Deepwater Plug and Abandonment (Decommission & restoration) project in Nigeria for the Shell Group and first for the oil and gas industry in Sub-Saharan Africa. I am a certified and registered chartered engineer by the Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria(COREN).
