My name is Abhishek Kumar. Currently, I am working as a Senior tech lead manager at Rubrik Inc. I have worked in the software industry since 2009, after completing my undergraduate degree in Computer Science. I completed my master’s in 2014 and have worked in companies like Citrix, Vmware, Tintri, Oracle, and Rubrik.

I have focused on Cloud data security and recovery for the past five years, initially at Oracle and now at Rubrik. The security field has become very critical to all economies as it impacts not only organizations, both for-profit and non-profit, but also local communities, as we saw in the case of many ransomware attacks like the Colonial Pipeline ransomware attack. Colonial Pipeline paid about $4.4 Million in ransom to have their data released. This doesn’t include the cost of downtime, lost productivity, lost sales, and the cost of restoring services. This brought vast sections of the United States to a halt.
