James Sykes is a retired Aerospace Engineering Executive with more than 25 years of experience in new aircraft product development, Business Jets and Commercial Aircraft. He is looking to volunteer his time to help mentor the next generation.
James Sykes was the Head of Engineering, Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation from 2016-2020. He oversaw all Engineering activities across the global Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation organization. He focused on product development of the Mitsubishi SpaceJet M90 as well as new aircraft development programs. He was also the Chief Engineer responsible for making the final technical configuration decisions to ensure a safe aircraft that meet marketing requirements. Jim was also responsible for longer term, strategic development of the Engineering organization in order to support current and new product development programs aligned with transforming Mitsubishi Aircraft into a global company.
Prior to joining Mitsubishi Aircraft, Jim spent 21 years at Bombardier Aerospace in Montreal where he held various Engineering leadership positions in new product development, as well as customer support. Jim was also a certified Bombardier leadership coach.
